SOTD: Coco Madamoiselle pure parfum

Today I am going with the highly stylish, modern, and very tasteful scent of Coco Madamoiselle. It is one of those rare fragrances that was designed for the younger set, but was not dumbed down with sugary sweets and fruit salad, but rather its youthfulness is in the transparency of the the fragrance and the overall energy of the notes. It starts of with one of my favorite citrus openings, goes into a heart of creamy jasmine, and eventually settles with the uniquely airy combination of patchouli and vetiver.

SOTD: Mille et Une Rose

So today I am wearing one of the most gorgeous rose scents out there, Lancome's Mille et Une Rose, gorgeous concoction of ambrosial rose, amber, and I most definately a dollop of airy cloud like vanilla. The is a delectability to this rose that is surprising in that it is not a gourmand, but the rose has such a wonderful "chewiness" that it reminds me of the use of rose water in middle eastern cooking for desserts.

SOTD: Songes

Going with Annick Goutal's Songes today; what an incredibly lush and sensual scent, yet has the note of dry incense running through it that is so utterly amazing.

SOTD: Prada Infusion d'Iris

Today I am going with the lovely delicate Prada Infusion d'Iris. I'm entering that part of year where all I want is spring scents (I know rather early, but then again I usually pull out my heavy orientals in August because well I start craving the yummy scents of Autumn and Winter, really it is a violent cycle :-P). This is also helped by the fact that Illuminations just put out there new Spring scents and well they look really good. Especially the Bellini one. By the way this is the first Iris fragrance I have ever owned.

Scent of the Day: Chanel 5 pure parfum and I'm back

So I am finally back after going to France and having to deal with heinous computer problems (both internet and computer related at the same time, very hard to troubleshoot the problem). Today I am choosing to go aldehydic with Chanel 5 in pure parfum, I am always amazed at how much vetiver I get in the concentration.
The above illustration is provided by, which recently just posted these awesome illustrations by Felix Lorioux. Apparently at one time Walt Disney was going to hire, but then decided he wanted all his illustrators to be in-house, what a loss. Anyway's I am hoping that the ASIFA will post Lorioux's illustrations of fairytales by Perrault (you know Puss'n'boots) and as many of you know I love fairytales. The encourage the posting of the fairytales please leave a comment here:
