SOTD: Farnesiana

Sometimes you just have to go girly pretty but why should that disparaged, in age when girly and womanly seem to be oversexed to attract a man's view, it is nice to put on a scent that feels like the purely feminine, celebratory of the feminine aspect at its most girly. In a way it reminds me of the Lolita Gothic trend:

The fragrance while feminine has its own bits of dark angles that makes it such a unique fragrance.
Just wanted to offer two really good articles about the Gothic Lolita trend:

Daily, there is something to be said about celebrating femininity; it makes you feel good and put together.

I have only read gothic lolita article one so far but it is very interesting. I was listening to two girls on the bus yesterday reading a trashy magazine and they were being absolutely horrible about all the celebrities who weren't what they thought was attractive- which seemed to be a very retro, Pamela Anderson idea. It was just horrible. They were both about 18 and one had clearly already had plastic surgery on her chest. They both had full evening type make up on, died hair extensions and probably barely resembled themselves. I'm not prudish but I just thought you don't get it do you girls.

Rose,
Ooopphh, I might be of the hippy dippy school of thought, but I've always been of the mind there are many varieties of beauty, so when I hear stories like that, well I get a sad face inside. Which reminds me of a rather interesting incident: years ago I was sitting with my ex and his family watching Casino Royale with Daniel Craig and in it one of the woman he sleeps with is of middle eastern heritage, very lovely and unique, and for some reason my ex's niece decided that this woman was ugly, because of her nose. She ranted and raved about as though it was the worst thing the rest of course telling her to shut up and grow up. But I remember being just really disturbed by the incident.
